Founded in 1954 by Pierre Favez, the company started its operation with rail welding in the region of the Lake of Constance. Then, under the management of the founder's son, Mr. Jean-Louis Favez, EFSA developed its activities during more than 30 years, on its site in Châtillens. With a production plant of 4500m2 and some 60 employees, the company first specialised in the production and regeneration of steel sleepers. Then, as from 1971the manufacturing of steel drums for the transportation of cable was added to the production range. In this field, EFSA presently holds an important share in the European market. As from 2001 the management of the company is assumed by the engineers J.-L. Monnier and P. Michel.

Fondée en 1954 par Pierre Favez, la société EFSA a débuté son activité de soudage de rails dans la région du Lac de Constance. Sous la direction du fils du fondateur, M. Jean-Louis Favez, l'entreprise, spécialisée dans la fabrication et la régénération de traverses métalliques, se développe pendant plus de 30 ans sur son site de Châtillens, avec une halle de fabrication de 4500 m2 et quelque 60 collaborateurs. Dès 1971, la fabrication de bobines métalliques pour le transport de câbles est introduite et à l'heure actuelle, EFSA détient une grande part du marché européen dans ce domaine. Depuis 2001, la direction opérationnelle est assurée par les ingénieurs J.-L. Monnier et P. Michel.

1954 durch Pierre Favez gegründet, begann die Firma EFSA ihre Schienenschweiss-Tätigkeit in der Bodensee-Region. Unter der Leitung des Sohns des Gründers, Herrn Jean-Louis Favez, entwickelte sich die Gesellschaft während mehr als 30 Jahren weiter, mit Sitz in Châtillens. Zuerst spezialisiert in der Herstellung und Regeneration von Stahlschwellen, in einer Fertigungshalle von 4500m2 und ca. 60 Mitarbeitern, wurde ab 1971 die Herstellung von Stahlspulen für den Transport von Kabeln ins Fertigungsprogramm aufgenommen. Heute hält EFSA auf diesem Gebiet einen wichtigen Anteil im europäischen Markt. Seit 2001 steht das Unternehmen unter der Geschäftsleitung der Ingenieure J.-L. Monnier und P. Michel.
